In her work, Dominika Julia Homa (she/her) explores the influence of language grammars on social constructs and perceptions of reality, as well as the implications of multilingualism on different socio-political topics. In collaboration with international performers and teams, she creates devised theatre plays in which the multiplicity of languages is not only the content, but also the formal principle.

Dominika was born in Belgium in 1993 and grew up bilingually speaking Polish and Dutch.

In 2015, she completed her Master's degree in Theatre Studies at the Universiteit Gent and the Freie Universität Berlin.

From 2016 until 2017 she worked as an assistant director at the Berliner Ensemble, from 2018 until 2021 at the Maxim Gorki Theater.

In 2019 she staged the scenic reading Der NSU-Prozess. Das Protokoll in a cooperation with the Literaturhaus Berlin.

In 2020, her play Beute premiered at the Gorki Container.

In June 2022 she set up the opening of the Festival OSTEN in Bitterfeld-Wolfen.

Dominika closely collaborates with the dramaturg Maike Müller. In December 2018, they presented the German-Polish play Zungen. Ein dialogischer Monolog in the Gorki Studio Я. In October 2022, the premiere of their piece WI*DERREDEN took place at TD Berlin. In early 2023, they continued their collaboration with SPEECHIES, an artistic research process funded by the Fonds Darstellende Künste. In the second half of 2023, they conducted the artistic research SPEAKING SCI FI with funding from the Fonds Darstellende Künste research grant.

Dominika lives in Berlin.
